Silencio is tinged with cinematic flair! Dramatic lighting, mirrored reflections and seduction have made this one of my favorite fashion editorials for 2014.

I have a confession to make. I no longer enjoy, therefore, rarely go to the movie theaters. Instead, I prefer watching films on DVD in the privacy of my home. Whether I’m comfortably sprawled out across the sofa, or snuggling with hubby, I love to watch movies in my pajamas, although if I’m honest, I’ll admit that more often than not, I’m simply dressed in a tank top and undies.
I love being able to pause the movie midway through, make Root Beer soda floats or Hot Chocolate, while hubby pops corn then drizzles melted organic butter over the popped corn and tosses lightly with a smidgeon of sea salt.
However, I don’t think I can wait until The Better Angels is released on DVD. The Better Angels, produced by Terrence Malick, directed and written by A. J. Edwards tells the story of Abraham Lincoln’s childhood in rural Indiana and the love and tragedies that shaped his remarkable life.
Beautifully filmed, cinematically lush, and breathtaking, I can’t wait to see this film!
I enjoy photographing dancers and I’ve been quite fortunate to take dance photography workshops with Lois Greenfield. Imagine my glee, when I discovered WSJ Magazine paired Joan Smalls and Lil Buck in a glamorous dance inspired fashion editorial.
Yo Yo Ma and Lil Buck perform Camille Saint-Saens’ The Swan at The National Center for Performing Arts in Beijing, China in 2011. Born Charles Riley, Lil Buck was raised in Memphis and practices Jookin; a street dance that combines the illusion of floating gracefully in slow motion, fluid footwork, and gansta walking.
Hello November! Yesterday was the first day in six months that a light jacket was required during the day. And my heart flipped cartwheels at the prospect of rain as thick gray clouds loomed overhead.
Late last night, I drank mulled apple cider and sorted through photographs from my recent vacation in Paris, as rain drops fell..
Here are a few links that caught my eye and made me smile. Wishing you the loveliest of weekends!
I realize this is a tad late for Halloween, however, I’m intrigued by the ingredients—spiced rum paired with pumpkin puree. In a cocktail, no less? Perhaps this will make a great cocktail (minus the dry ice) for Thanksgiving? And as always, the food styling and photography are top notch, via Honestly Yum.
