In an ABC News exclusive, Diane Sawyer will anchor a 20/20 special set to air in September, in which Jacqueline Kennedy provides an oral history about the early days on the campaign trail, historic events during JFK’s presidency, family and married life in the White House.
Jacqueline Kennedy, whose glamour and grace, defined an era, sat down with noted historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr. for a recorded interview four months after the assassination of JFK. The contents of the interview have never been released to the public.
Jacqueline Kennedy left the tapes to her daughter Caroline, and requested that they be released at an appropriate time. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy administration, Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life with John F. Kennedy will be published. The book and 8 CD set are available here and here.
