The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens is one of the most magnificent places to visit in Los Angeles. Located in San Marino, there are 14 separate gardens spread across 120 acres with 14,000 different plant varieties. While attending fashion design school, I studied elements of composition which include color, pattern, repetition, texture, etc., and one has to look no further than Mother Nature, in regal display at The Huntington.
I’m head over heels with the rose garden which boasts 1200+ different rose varieties amid 4000 rose bushes. My favorite are the David Austin English Roses and the Old Garden/Heirloom roses. And, I’ve discovered the desert garden filled with cacti and succulents is perfect for practicing macro-photography.
