Hello and Happy Weekend!
I’m enjoying a beautiful day…golden California sunshine against a cloudless bright blue sky and temperatures in the mid 80’s. Although it’s mid November, it hasn’t been cold enough yet, to wear my cozy cable knit nor my merino wool sweaters. And lately, I’ve been dreaming of owning a small vacation home perhaps on the East coast…where four seasons truly exist.
I spent a wonderful morning out with my darling husband which is quite rare. We visited a favorite cafe and I ate my first slice of pumpkin pie of the holiday season. And I’ve been downright undisciplined in my consumption of egg nog (more on this later).
Later tonight, we’ll snuggle on the sofa and watch Veronica Lake in the film noir classic, This Gun for Hire. I find weekends filled with simple and lovely pleasures are the most leisured and relaxing.
I wish you a wonderful weekend filled with joy. Cheers!
Such a gorgeous photograph of Jessica Alba! In this week’s edition for The Edit, Fashion Designer Tory Burch interviews CEO and Actress Jessica Alba. During the interview, Alba shares personal experiences she’s encountered as CEO for The Honest Company. Photographed by Sebastian Kim.
I love to read and listen to people describe their homes. Interior Designer Vanessa Alexander describes her Malibu residence as, “a sun-filled, airy, beachy version of a Tuscan farmhouse.” Alexander’s farmhouse was photographed by Tessa Neustadt and appears in MyDomain.com.
Honestly Yum, one of my favorite food blogs, created a short video demonstrating how to carve a turkey. If only this video existed the year I first carved our family’s roasted turkey.
And in the spirit of Thanksgiving, the food editors at Bon Appétit have compiled a list featuring 30 Thanksgiving Desserts. Two recipes that I’d like to try: The Chocolate Pecan Tart with Boubon Whipped Crème Fraîche and Grandma’s Pumpin Pie.
Sommelier Jayme Henderson has crafted a Bourbon and Spiced Pear Cocktail that features Fall flavors: juiced pears, orange, allspice, cinnamon, and fresh sage.
