Unbelievably spectacular images photographed by Lee Jeffries.  These photographs are gritty, graphically provocative, and hauntingly beautiful.  I love how texture, light, and shadow swirl throughout the photographs…forcibly pulling me in.

Today, I’m inspired by Brooke Shaden’s photograph Pixie Dust.  Inspired by Peter Pan, the character Wendy levitates and is the focal point in Pixie Dust.  Shaden,  a fine art conceptual photographer shares encouraging words and sound advice for creatives on her blog today…I hope you won’t miss out.

I’ve long admired the talents of photographer Anna Williams.  In her ongoing project, The Voracity, I love how Williams combines different genres of photography—food, lifestyle, and still life.  In Williams own words, “The Voracity is a personal project exploring hunger, consumption, and beauty”.

I find Susan Burnstine’s photography dreamy, ethereal, evocative, and imaginative. When I view her work,  I always feel as though  I’m traipsing through a dream during twilight.

Even more fascinating, Burnstine’s images are created using homemade cameras made from vintage camera parts.  Burnstine’s book, Within Shadows may be purchased here and here.

Turquoise: A chef’s travels in Turkey  is a sumptuous cookbook filled with gorgeous travel and food photography.  I dream of traveling to Istanbul and I love to cook, so you can imagine how weak in the knees I became, when I glanced through the book at the local bookstore.

In the introduction, Greg and Lucy Malouf write, “It’s a land washed in brilliant white sunshine, where a deep blue sky merges with a green sea to create a distinctive and memorable turquoise.”  

Filled with vivid prose and coupled with stunning photography by Lisa Cohen and William Meppem, this gem is worth taking a look at on your next visit to the bookstore.
