I have always been smitten with Richard Avedon’s fashion photography.  He had an extraordinary way of capturing elegance, glamour, exuberance, and vitality.  Suzy Parker and Robin Tattersall were photographed by Avedon at the Moulin Rouge Paris, in August 1957.  In image (1) Parker models a Grés evening gown.  In image (2) the evening gown is designed by Griffe.   Needless to say, two of my  favorite  photography books  are  Avedon’s  Woman in the Mirror and Avedon Fashion 1944-2000.

I’m happy to share that I’m off to Washington D.C. for a week, and unfortunately, no new posts until I return home.  I’m excited about my visit to the nation’s capital, as it will be my first time.

I’d  like  to  take  a moment  to wish  you  all  a  fabulous weekend;  and  a  superb  and wonderful week ahead.

The epitome of chic and elegance!  Beautifully photographed by Richard Avedon in 1953, Georgia Hamilton models a Balenciaga wool dress in Paris.  I love how the décolleté cut romantically accentuates the shoulders and neckline.  And the sleeves…simply to die for.
